Life of Riley Tavern
Life of Riley is a great neighborhood sports bar. The outside picnic tables are often used by dogs with their owners.
They also have a great menu and happy hour 4pm-7pm daily. We recommend the piglets in blanket and basket of fries. :)

Fuller's Restaurant
Fuller's Restaurant is an old-school diner - complete with counter seating. If you come with your pup, there is outside seating available. It's not fancy, but the food more than makes up for it. Everything on the menu is delicious! There are lots of dog "regulars" at Fuller's and we've seen some lucky ones score bacon strips from the waitresses. :)

P.F. Chang's China Bistro
The outside tables at P.F. Chang's are a popular spot for dogs and owners. The staff is always super-friendly. Our pups love the fortune cookies. :)

Fort Funston
Fort Funston is wonderful for off-leash fun with your pup. You can hike, play in the water at the beach, or roam the hillside. We recommend bringing your own water and clean-up supplies. While there is plenty of natural beauty, the public facilities leave something to be desired.

Banfield the Pet Hospital
When we first moved to OR, we went to the Banfield in Tualatin out of desperation. Joshua needed his rabies vaccination and we thought "How bad could it be?". It was not a good experience. All they really cared about was trying to sell us their Wellness Plan. Needless to say, we have not returned.

Taco Del Mar
The tables outside are ideal taking your pup with you for a meal.
Taco Del Mar currently has an on-going event to support DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital. Every Wednesday Taco Del Mar will generously donate 5% of all Wednesday sales from their NW 9th & Hoyt location in the Pearl to DoveLewis!

Peet's Coffee & Tea
Peet's in the Brewery Blocks has an awesome covered area with tables - perfect for sitting outside with your pup. No joke - we have often seen owners bring a dog bed and hang out for hours. :)

Starbucks Coffee
Starbucks Kearney Plaza has plenty of outside tables for dogs and their owners. However, we recommend taking coffee to-go and heading over with your pup to Jamison Square - only a block away!

Starbucks Coffee
Rain or shine, dogs can be spotted sitting with their owners at the outside tables or waiting for mom/dad to come back with coffee.

Petsmart
When we lived in the area, we always shopped at Petsmart and took the pups there for full-service baths. The staff always did a really great job - especially with Nikki who sheds like crazy!

Foster City Bark Park
We used to live close to the FC Bark Park and went occasionally. There are separate areas for big dogs and small dogs. While we did meet some nice pups, there were some that clearly needed more parental supervision.

Jamison Square
We walk with the pups to Jamison Square almost every day. There is a nice grass area, even though it's not very large. In the mornings, there are always other friendly dogs and owners to greet.
When the weather is nice, the park is full of families and dogs. Be sure to keep your dog out of the fountain (not allowed).

Couch Park
Couch Park is a nice option if you are looking for an off-leash area in the neighborhood. There seem to always be more small dogs, so it's harder for our pups to find similar-sized playmates.
12/30 8:46am
North Park Blocks
The North Park Blocks used to be a regular walk route for us because there is a good amount of grass. However, there are more scenic walk areas in the neighborhood.
One plus of North Park Blocks - awesome pet store Urban Fauna is right across the street. You can take a walk and get some shopping done. :)

Washington Park
Washington Park is one of the oldest parks in Portland. Attractions and activities in the park include: Oregon Zoo, Portland Japanese Garden, International Rose Test Garden, Hoyt Arboretum, hundreds of miles of trails, and picnic areas.
When the weather is nice, it is definitely our favorite spot for family picnics with the pups. If you enter the park from SW Park Place, the picnic areas there are popular with dog owners.
For active dogs and owners, the trail choices are endless. We like the easy trail near Hoyt Arboretum, which offers a great view of Mount Hood and Mount St. Helens.

Charlton Kennels
We started bringing our pups to Charlton Kennels after being referred by a very good friend. Charlton Kennels is family owned and operated, which definitely shows. The staff is always so wonderful, loving and professional. Both of our pups LOVE going to camp when we have to travel. They always know when it's time to go and their excitement is hilarious!
The daily rates are very reasonable (monthly rates also available). We always have the pups share a run - even though they are big - because they like being together. We pay extra for the daily nature walks and a bath before going home. Highly recommended!

Rite Aid
Rite Aid in The Pearl is a smaller neighborhood location, but definitely dog-friendly. The employees always greet the four-legged shoppers and are very generous with treats. The floor can be slick, so be careful going down those aisles!
12/6 10:22pm
Cool Moon Ice Cream
Cool Moon Ice Cream is the hot-spot for homemade ice cream featuring local Oregon ingredients. True happiness is watching our pups eat their cone treats outside of the store. Look for the container "Broken Cones for Dogs" on the counter. :)
12/6 10:13pm
Cupcake Jones
Warning: Treats from Cupcake Jones are highly addictive. You can share the addiction with your pups because they also sell doggie cupcakes!
12/6 9:57pm
Caffee Umbria
Caffe Umbria offers excellent local coffee and snacks in one of the best people-watching spots in The Pearl. The outdoor seating is popular with dog owners in the neighborhood. Many of the staff are dog owners, so our pups get a lot of love. :)
12/6 9:36pm
Urban Fauna
We take our pups to Urban Fauna for the best grooming in The Pearl! The staff is so awesome and do an amazing job every time.
11/21 6:20pm
Rogue Distillery & Public House (PDX)
If you love beer and dogs, a visit to Rogue Ales in The Pearl is a must. Brewer the Brewdawg was the Chairman and beloved black lab of of Brewmaster John Maier before passing a few years ago - so you know they are dog lovers! Rogue's Bones and Brew Festival in the summer is a fantastic family and dog-friendly event.
11/21 6:03pm
The Westin Portland
The Westin Portland was our "home" when we first moved to PDX. The staff at the hotel was awesome and loved our pups. Since the hotel is in the heart of downtown, be sure to ask the helpful valet and door staff for tips on good walk routes. Great location for dog-friendly places to eat and shop.
11/20 9:53pm
Oakwood At The Louisa
We have lived here for 2 years and the building is very dog friendly. Our pups love it here and have lots of friends. Great neighborhood, too. :)
