Ambiance
Despite the fact I'm a guy I love this place. My girlfriend consistently drags me in here and since I don't have to wait outside with the dog I can curb of spending on dresses! They are always super nice to my dog and always come pet him. Space is a bit tight but don't let that stop you.

Global Exchange Fair Trade Craft Center
Very cool store with lots of unique gifts. No dog treats or water bowl though and the store has lots of breakables. Great if your looking for holiday gifts.

Best Buy
I really like this place. It's like a toy store for adults. Who doesn't always need the latest and greatest flat screen??? Came here a few months back with the dog after stopping by the SF/SPCA. The layout is huge so you don't have to worry about getting stuck in a crowd with the dog and the staff seemed to love that I brought him with me. No dog perks like a water bowl or dog treats but I didn't expect that from an electronics store. Lot's of other dog friendly stores in the area as well, one of my other favorites is Sports Basement, be sure to check out both if you're in the neighborhood.

Bernal Heights Dog Park
Go for the dog, stay for the views. Lots of dogs, pretty cool people, running water, and you can leave the leash at home. Took off one bone since there is no dedicated fenced dog area.
The loop around the top is approx. 1 mile. Fun jogging/hiking trails too.

Stray Bar
Very cool local spot in Bernal Heights. Dog treats, a water bowl, lots of love for your pup. This place has made it's reputation on being a dog friendly bar. If you are in the area be sure to stop in.
11/19 1:17am
Cantankerous Fish
Unlike the other review I enjoyed the food. But I didn't think the dog experience was that great. Yes they have lot's of tables but nothing special in the way of dog offerings. The water bowl is such a simple gesture but like Cantakerous not enough places do it.
11/19 12:36am
Posh Bagel
Great spot the stop off with the dog on the morning walk. You have to order inside so be sure to have a plan for the dog. There are several safe tie up spots and most people shouldn't have a problem unless your dog has serious separation anxiety.
Food is great, grab a bagel, coffee, and read the morning paper with the pup.
11/15 4:34pm
Noe Valley Courts
Nice spot in the heart of Noe. Closest park to the main sopping area of 24th. Not officially off-leash but all the owners let's the dogs run free. Sorta fenced by default but one small section is not fenced so use caution. Water fountains but no poop bags. The tennis courts and grass areas are the main dog spots.
10/30 11:38am
Philz Coffee
Great spot for grabbing the morning caffeine fix while walking the pup. Lot's of dogs usually hanging outside with their owners so be prepared for some doggie social time.
Water bowl is often outside so the dog can enjoy some water while you enjoy Philz's fresh brewed coffee.
No table service though so you will need a plan for the dog when you head inside to order. I recommend brining a friend along or asking one of the many dog "regulars" to keep track of your pup when you head to the counter.

Out of the Closet Thrift Store
Dogs and cheap clothes. Lots of dog friendly options nearby. Just have the leash if it's a weekend.
10/27 9:54am
Kabuki Hotel
Great dog friendly hotel in Japantown. Green space in abundance nearby. Head to Filmore for dog friendly shopping and dinning.
10/25 11:29pm
Calzone's Pizza Cucina
Lots of outdoor seating so there is never trouble finding a dog friendly seat - usually at least 15 tables. No dog extras though, so bring a doggie snack from home. The staff has brought Kole water before but you usually have to specifically ask for it.
The people watch is also great from this spot, just make sure you have a leash on the pup as the street gets very busy at night. Food is ok at best, and despite the name I recommend avoiding the Calzone.
10/25 8:44pm
Tiffany & Company
Who would have thought that Tiffany is dog friendly. In fact almost all the high end stores around Union Square allow dogs, people just assume the opposite so they leave the pup at home or outside the store.
No dog treats or water bowls but they do have lots of dog specific gifts to treat that special pooch in your life. The staff gave my dog tons of attention and he felt right at home. Just be sure to have a leash with you and to take an extra potty break as they store has really, really nice carpet.
Knocked off one bone because as I mentioned they don't have dog treats or water bowls on location.
Check out all the other dog friendly union square shops while you're in the area.
10/25 5:34pm
SF Muni
I've taken my dog on Muni a few times and the experience varies each time. The first time I didn't have a mussel and the driver didn't seem to care. The next time I was told if I didn't have a mussel we wouldn't be able to ride the bus. I would advise all dog owners who want to ride Muni at least have a mussel with them so if the drivers asks you can put it on your dog just for the ride.
Other than the mussel issue the Muni is a graet way to get around San Francisco. The buses tend to get packed during the morning and evening commute hours and Muni smartly does not allow companion dogs during that time.
Just raised the fee from $1.50 to $2.00 for adults. The dog fee is the same amount you have to pay for yourself. So if you're a senior, the dog fee is the senior rate, student, student rate and so on.
10/5 10:54pm
Golden Gate Park
Dog paradise, at least in the off-leash sections. Great place to take the dog on a weekend or weekday. Never gets that crowded because the park is simply too large. The size can be a negative if you're looking for major social time time - dogs are often scattered.
Running water situated around the restrooms let the pup stay hydrated but the poop bags are often out so bring some from home. Oh and it can get pretty cold in the evenings, bring layers.
10/5 8:41pm
Douglass Park
Great park to let the pup stretch is legs on a sunny San Francisco weekend. The off-leash restriction is a pain in the butt but the rule is hardly ever enforced. Great trail hikes and lot's of places and smells for your pooch to discover. Bring extra poop bags.
10/5 8:38pm
Given
Located in the heart of the Castro district, this is a very dog friendly store despite the high end items they carry - sorta comes with the territory I guess if you have dogs on staff! Dog treats are often out as well as a water bowl. Just be sure the dog is on a leash if they're a bit hyper, breakables are all over the place.
10/5 8:31pm
Golden Gate Bridge
People come from all over the world just to get a glimpse of this famous bridge; San Francisco dog owners are lucky enough to have this at their disposal every weekend.
I knocked off a few bones for the following reasons:
1. The walkway is narrow
2. Bikes and runners can often make it difficult to navigate with your dog.
3. It's cold and windy, not directly dog related but it's really windy!
10/5 8:26pm
Coit Liquor
I think this place might have closed, make sure to call before heading over. Logistics aside it's dog friendly, just not what I would consider overly dog friendly. No water bowl or dog treats and lot's of breakable wine bottles. Make sure your dog is either very well behaved or on a leash.
10/5 8:24pm
Dolores Park Cafe
I might take some grief for only giving Dolores Park Cafe 4 bones but I'm knocking off one for not having table service. This is important because unless you have a friend along to watch the dog, you'll have to tie up the pooch alone outside when you order.
That aside this is a great dog spot. Multiple water bowls, located right across the street dolores park, and dog treats even turn up from time to time. Try the carrot cake, the cream cheese frosting is amazing.
10/5 8:01pm
Coit Tower
Great spot to check out amazing views of the Northern half of San Francisco. Only awarding two bones because you can't take the pooch inside Coit Tower with you, essentially eliminating the possibility of going to the top.
Dogs are welcome at the base area though, just make sure you have the leash with you, fines have been dished out to owners not following the leash rules. A parking lot is available but it's pretty small. If it's a weekend or holiday I would advise walking up from North Beach. Will be good exercise for you and the pup.
10/5 7:53pm
Caffe Roma
I often stop by this place because it's close to my place but after visiting a few times with the pup I've started looking elsewhere for dog friendly coffee. Staff is great and the food/drinks are good but you have to order inside and leaving the pup on busy Columbus Avenue is less than ideal.
No water bowl or dog treats also doesn't help their case. The restaurant layout does allow you the ability to watch the dog outside when you're ordering at the counter inside. Check out 901 Columbus for a better dog friendly coffee option.
10/5 7:42pm
Under One Roof
Come here for the array of goodies, stay for social time for your pooch. Under One Roof has dog treats, water bowls, and lot's of dog regulars. Next door to Spikes Coffee, another top dog friendly spot. Next time your grabbing a pick me up be sure to stop by this store. The layout can be tight in some spots but the staff is used to having dogs coming in and out and you'll always be met with a smile and dog treat.
10/5 7:35pm
Fort Funston
The most amazing dog spot I've found in San Francisco. Make no mistake, dogs run the show here.
Huge parking lot make accessing this spot super easy. From the parking lot you'll hit a few trail options, stay far to the right for the best dog route. You'll pass a water fountain early, if your dog needs water make sure to stop as you won't have another chance. Then begin the descent along a windy dog riddled trail down to the ocean. You'll pass tons of dogs so if you pooch isn't the best at following make sure to keep him or her on-leash until you hit the beach. The final stop is the beach and the safest spot to allow your dog to run off-leash.
Just be sure to bring a towel to clean off the dog before getting back in the car.
10/5 7:31pm
Washington Square Park
Nice park, not so amazing from the dog perspective. Located in the heart of North, Beach Washington Square Park is a green oasis in an otherwise concrete metropolis. The reason it's not a great dog park is the following:
1. Not enough acreage
2. Crowded, and full of crazies. Be sure to keep a close eye on your dog.
3. Ridiculous on-leash rules
4. Surrounded by busy streets.
Hope this helps
9/9 8:37pm
Starbucks Coffee
Standard Starbucks deal. The dog friendly component is the outdoor seating. Only gets three bones since you can't bring the dog inside when you order.
8/22 5:24pm
Park Chow
Super dog friendly and a great spot to take the pooch in all weather. The outdoor patio is perfect year round with the fire and the covered dining area.
They bring you a water bowl and even have dog treats. The food is great too!
8/12 4:33pm
Petco
Decent selection but nothing spectacular, especially if you're one of this San Franciscans looking for a huge selection of organic products. Good spot if your cruising nearby ocean beach with the pup and need to buy some dog shampoo get out out that ocean beach stink.
8/6 8:48am
Charlevoix Wear
If you're walking the pooch on Bridge St. make sure you stop in Charlevoix Wear. Even if you're not in the market for Charlevoix gear you can pick up a treat for the pooch! The staff loves dogs and the store if very easy for even the largest dogs to negotiate. Highly recommended.
8/6 8:16am
Kilwins
Summer time in Charlevoix isn't complete until you've made a trip to Kilwin's for some delicious ice cream. Bring the pup along and enjoy the warm Michigan evenings from the dog friendly outdoor tables. There are always a bunch of dogs outside or passing by so be ready for social time. As the profile mentions, dogs are not allowed inside so you'll need to leave the pup outside when you head in to order. Minus two bones for no water bowl and no table service.
7/24 3:13pm
South Beach Cafe
Just came here today for a dog friendly lunch meeting. The dog setup is good not great and here's why:
1 bone for the abundance of outdoor tables. 1 bone for table service. 1 bone for giving the usual "your dog is super cute talk" who can resist that. -1 for no water bowl and - 1 for no heaters and no cover should the weather turn nasty.
As for the food, scored a solid B.
7/21 7:49pm
Spike's Coffees & Teas
Hard not to like this place if you're a dog owner and a coffee fan. The front area of Spikes literally turns into a mini dog park during prime caffiene hours.
Get in tight with the locals and their dogs and you'll never have to look anywhere else for doggie social time.
Knocked off one bone cause they're aren't that many outdoor tables.
7/21 7:38pm
Duboce Park
Very cool dog spot but it only gets three "bones" from me when compared to other parks in SF.
1. There is not fenced area and Duboce-Sanchez can get really traffic heavy.
2. Owners who frequent this park aren't the best at picking up the poo - check your shoes..yeah.
7/21 7:34pm
Duboce Park Cafe
One of the more friendly dog friendly cafes in San Francisco. Several factors are responsible for me giving Duboce Park Cafe 5 "bones"
1. They always have a dog bowl out front.
2. They have a tie-up for your dog when your inside ordering.
3. There are a ton of outdoor tables, even in bad weather.
4. Duboce Dog Park is right across the street.
7/21 7:20pm
Loyal Army Clothing
Super cool spot to bring your dog shopping. The staff is very dog friendly and often hands out treats. They even have dog hoodies and it's not to far from Hippy Hill if you need to let the pup run off that shopping energy.
7/21 7:12pm
Kiehl's
Kiehl's is an awesome place to bring your dog. The employees love to be entertained by four legged customers and will often watch your dog while you shop.
They even do dog events on Sunday's to raise money for needy dogs.
7/19 1:08am
Chipotle Mexican Grill
Amazing food. I don't even care they were started by McDonalds. In terms of the dog they have 3 tables and it's easy to see the pup with the glass front. Just be careful since you order inside and you have to leave the dog outside when ordering. Great food, not super dog friendly.
7/16 5:48pm
Pomodoro
Great spot to stop for a quick and reasonably priced meal with the dog. Heat lamps an they'll bring out a water bowl if you ask.
7/15 4:46pm
Mars Bar & Restaurant
Great spot to stop by with the pup, grab a beer and hangout in the dog friendly outdoor seating.
7/5 4:43pm
Adidas Sport Performance
Went in here a few weeks back with the pup when I was looking for new running shoes. They have no problem bringing the dog inside but they don't have any dog amenities and the space can get tight with the Union Square traffic. Head inside if you happen to be walking by but don't make it a dog destination.
7/2 6:56pm
Ottimista Enoteca-Cafe
Great year round dog friendly spot on Union St. Because of Ottimista's covered front patio you can enjoy drinks with the pooch year round, regardless of the elements. Heaters are over the patio area, table service allows you to never leave the pup either.
Only precaution is the patio does get overcrowded, so larger dogs may have trouble finding space to really lay down. Recommended more as a drink spot than dinner spot because of the crowds.
7/2 6:45pm
Terra Mia Ceramic Studios
We did our Fido Factor photo shoot here and the staff was amazing. Not only does the management have their dogs running around, they have the energy to allow your dogs to run around too.
Breakables are all over the place but the attitude is extremely dog friendly. If you head here for a day with the family make sure to bring the pooch too.
7/2 6:40pm
Stuart Moore Gallery of Designer Jewelry
If you're looking for high end jewelry with a modern twist but don't want to leave the dog at home, Stuart Moore is your place. No breakables, the owners dogs are always around and the concrete flooring makes it extremely easy to clean up a canine mess.
Located on Union, in the heart of the dog-friendly Marina this is a perfect stop for you and your dog.
7/2 6:37pm
American Apparel
Brought Buddha here back in March. Needless to say a pug was a huge hit at this store. They loved him. He was even offered treats. The aisles are tight but the worst that will happen is you'll knock a plain white t-shirt off the rack. So bring your pup inside, much safer than tying them up on the sidewalk!
7/2 6:13pm
Caffe Delucchi
Caffe Delucchi sits in the heart of North Beach and gets the crazy foot traffic you'd might expect (reason for only 3 bones). The sidewalk is rather narrow so make sure you tuck the pup along in the inside of the table. Have never seen a water bowl but they do have heaters and partial awning coverage. Try the pizza's, slip some to the pooch too!
7/2 6:10pm
Bocce Cafe
Went to Bocce last fall and loved what I found. It's a bit out of the way but if you can find it, it's worth it. The dog friendly set up is pretty good. Full back patio, complete with awning cover, heaters, and table service. They even have a water bowl out for your up.
Use caution though. Last time I was there stray cats were roaming about.
6/24 5:35pm
Rogue Ales Public House
Dogs and beer, what more could you want. The staff is super dog friendly and the beer is plentiful. We opted for the back beer garden when we went - Rogue also has dog friendly tables in front. We had 4 dogs with us and little Buddha even busted inside and did three laps around the bar!
The beer garden is only acceisble by walking through the bar so make sure the pup is on a leash.
6/24 4:33pm
Patagonia
This place is an outdoor/dog lovers dream. I can come in and get everything I need for the weekend trip to Yosemite and Kole can much on dog treats or refresh himself at the always full water bowl.
And if Kole has too many treats or drinks too much the wood floor makes for easy cleanup!
Highly recommended.
6/24 4:27pm
Kennedy's Irish Pub & Curry House
Kennedy's has a split food personality, part Irish pub and part Indian curry house. Kennedy's also has a split personality when it comes to their dog policy. The front area offers no dog friendly seating.
Spend an extra thirty seconds and walk to the back to enter off of Taylor you'll find a large dog friendly deck with seating for 20. No dog bowl or dog treats but my dog likes samosas!
6/24 4:19pm
901 Columbus Cafe
Love this place!
Great spot to bring the pup, watch the tourists and take advantage of their incredible happy hour prices: $2 draft beer and $3 wine from 5-10pm. Lot's of dog friendly tables but no water bowl, the only reason it doesn't receive 5 bones.
If it's really hot out and your dog has problems with the heat, grab one of the dog friendly tables along Columbus for the shade. The sign in the window says "no dogs" by it only applies to inside seating. All six outdoor tables are dog friendly.
5/15 1:19am
Flight 001
The layout is open and the staff is super dog friendly but the weekends get crowded and there is potential for the pup to knock some items off the shelf. All and all a very dog friendly store, would have received 5 "bones" if they had a water bowl out front!
