Alameda Small Dog Park

This is a smallish, gated dog park which is great to bring your pup to socialize with other small dogs. They do a Halloween costume contest every year which is a lot of fun-- lots of great creative costumes. Water, waste bags and friendly regulars are abundant.

Chow

Chow is one of my favorite east bay dog friendly locations. They will bring a bowl of water for your pup without even asking. Really tasty, seasonal fresh food. They have a really yummy brunch and some of my favorites are their seasonal pizzas and the ginger cake with pumpkin gelato for desert.

Walnut Creek Yacht Club

This is my #1 fav place in Walnut Creek to get fresh seafood. They also have great cocktails and you can just drop in to get a fresh piece of fish to cook at home. I know they have outdoor seating, but I have never dined here with my pup.

Lark Creek Walnut Creek

They have outdoor seating but will not let you bring your pup inside the gates. If you can request a table next to the perimeter gate, then you can tie your pup to the other side which is not bad at all. The food here is great, and one of my favorite spots for a nicer lunch.

Va de Vi Bistro

Excellent food and wine flights. Their outdoor seating options are quite nice, and they will bring your pup a bowl of water. This is definitely pricey, so if you want to splurge I highly recommend!

Nordstrom

Walnut Creek is one of the most dog- friendly cities in the bay area. Most of the stores in Broadway plaza are dog- friendly, especially Nordstrom. It is always fun to see the different type of dogs that are in the store. Also, I love the outside shopping area of the mall. Just be careful in the peak summer months as it gets really hot! A little too intense for my frenchie.

General Bead

This is my favorite craft store in the city! Besides their huge selection of beads and semi-precious stones they have so many unique, one-of-a kind items such as their vintage buttons, sequin sew ons and swarovski flatbacks in every color under the sun. I seriously have to restrain myself when coming here. Also, I made some really unique dog collars by gluing on swarovski flatback crystals to a collar. Also I made another one out of vintage buttons. It was such an easy project, and affordable!

Chow

Great outdoor seating for you and your pooch. Great food, service and they will even bring a bowl full of water without asking. I have been going to CHOW in the city and Lafayette for years and happy to see they are opening more locations.

Piedmont Park

This is my favorite off-leash area in the East Bay as it is usually very quiet and the setting is just gorgeous. With a winding, dog-friendly paved trail that leads you over waterfalls along a winding creek amongst trees. There's actually three paths with different elevation. Along the main path there's signs with descriptions of how the park came to be and its history. The trees and creek present a serene environment for a nice stoll with or without your four legged pet.

Jeffrey's Natural Pet Food Company

I love to stop by Jeffrey's and get my pup treats after the park. Very good quality food and merchandise!

Glen Canyon Park

This place is a great place to hike with your pup. Green and lush surrounding makes you feel like you have traveled north to the redwood forest. I see lots of dogs off leash even though it is technically not an off leash park.

Zeitgeist [Under Review]

They did not let me bring in my small French bulldog to sit in the outdoor patio :(

1/5 5:39pm

Canyon Market

I love the sandwiches at Canyon Market. You can eat outside with your pup for a quick, tasty lunch before heading over to Glen Park Canyon!

Park Chalet

Great dog, friendly restaurant choice near ocean beach. If it is a warm summer day it gets really crowded and the service is non-existant. I suggest snagging some of the adirondack chairs and ordering beers/ and food from the limited menu which is then delivered to your lawn location. Food is decent, but pricey.

Fort Funston

Fort Funston is my #1 fav off-leash beach walk to take my pup. It is gorgeous, abundant parking and lots of varieties of playful pups and owners! Clear skies and warm days are a treat.

Lucky 13

Love this dog- friendly bar. So much fun to go in and see all the pups seated with their owners. They also have a back patio, dog treats at the bar and free popcorn for the humans. Great beer selection too!

Betelnut

This is such a fun special occasion restaurant! Great decor and fun atmosphere.. small plates and creative, yummy cocktails. One the pricey side, but excellent quality.

You can sit outside with your dog but they only have a few two person tables.

Kasa Indian Eatery

Just a quick stroll from Dolores Park this is one of my favorite quick dining choices with my pup. I am addicted to their roti wraps. My favorite combo is half of the chicken tikka and half paneer (all in one wrap!).. it is a perfect combination of juicy chicken, spices and cheese. The homeade rotis are excellent.

1/5 5:01pm

Ti Couz

Ti Couz is the best place to go on a sunny day in the Mission- yummy sweet and savory crepes (the mushroom sauce is quite rich, but oh such a treat), refreshing salads... and the best part... the cocktails! #1 fav mimosas in town and great Bloody Mary's! If you can snag an outside table you can bring along your furry pal.

Avenues Pet Hospital

Dr Schwach is the bulldog/ flat faced specialist of the bay area and does he know his stuff! When living in San Diego I went to see a so called Frenchie specialist and she never said a thing about my Frenchies knee problem.. Dr Schwach took one examination and told us about the problem as well as recommending we do a procedure to improve her breathing. The procedure went well and our girl is doing so much better with her breathing! Dr Schwach is great and I highly recommend him.
