Alemany Dog Park
A bit on the small side, but plenty big enough for my dog to sprint, stretch his legs, and play fetch. The park is surrounded by trees and bushes so you feel pretty secluded from the busy nearby streets. The park is entirely fenced off, so its safe to let the dogs off the leash and explore.
Half of the park is on a tiny hill, which creates interesting terrain. Dogs love to dig on the hillside as well. Parking is easy (on Alemany).

Esprit Park
The park is not fenced off but there is very little traffic, and cars drive relatively slow due to rough roads. Also the park is fairly spacious so dogs have plenty of space to run without being tempted into the street.
I took my dog there at lunch on a weekday and was surprised to find 12 other dogs off leash running around and playing well together.

Pet Food Express
The staff is consistently very friendly and helpful, but they also get the hint to leave you alone when you're just browsing.
They have a convenient, self-service dog washing facility with at least 6 baths. Buy 3 wash tokens up front to get the 4th for free. (Actually, buy 3 of anything in the store and get the 4th for free).
The return policy is very lenient, so I always feel comfortable buying from them, knowing I can take the product back if it doesn't work out for me.
Their merchandise is not as boutique as some of SF's neighborhood shops like Pawtrero and Noe Valley Pet store. However, Pet Food Express still has an expansive selection and a low price guarantee so you always know you're getting the best value. Oh, and their food selection is actually quite good. And take advantage of their buy 3 get the 4th free deal on anything in the store.
