TownePlace Suites by Marriott Portland Hillsboro
Nice place to stay with a dog in the Portland area. Reasonable pet fee. There are plenty of grass-lined sidewalks and two small parks nearby that allow leashed dogs. There is a nice dog park (Hondo) nearby, although the grassy sections were closed due to the incessant rain while we were there.

Piccino
Excellent thin-crust pizza, friendly efficient service. Heaters over outdoor tables.

Moss Beach Distillery
Splendid oceanside view. Very dog friendly. Great place to spend an afternoon watching the surf & stunt planes.

Iron Cactus
Nothing fancy, just a decent place to get a taco and hang out with the dog. Kudos for the water bowl on the patio. Some heaters would be nice.

Mission Creek Dog Park
Pay careful attention to the other dogs before you let your pooch run here. A friend's dog was mauled here a few months ago by a pit and an akita.
Otherwise, it is kept clean, there is water, and with the double gates it is a safe place to let a dog with poor recall get some free run time.

Mars Bar & Restaurant
Good "bar" food (burgers, pulled pork sandwich, grilled chicken sandwich, onion rings, etc). Great service. Dog friendly back patio and giant heaters suspended over the tables.

Chez Papa Bistrot
Great food. Great service. Very dog friendly (waiters all said hi to the dog and one showed off pix of his German shorthair pointer). Perfect place to go if you have a dog in tow and you are looking for a nice place for dinner.

Room & Board
I have brought my small dog (9lbs) into Room & Board more than a few times and she has always been warmly greeted by the staff. I try to keep her off the furniture, but one time she jumped on a sofa, I told her "off" and the staff person said "don't worry about it." I wouldn't hesitate to bring a well-trained dog here. There is always a dog bowl by the front door. Isn't that the universal symbol for "dogs welcome here."
