Noe Valley Courts
I love this park, but quite honestly it is a horrible dog park.
It is small, it is not fenced in, technically dogs should be on leash but none of them are.
Too many kids with balls, bikes and boards and every now and again people are given tickets for having their dogs off leash.
That being said, my dog loves it and the regular crowd is great.
Dogs need to have great voice control and be very well socialized.

Pets Unlimited
This place get's a lot of grief, but we have always been treated well and fairly.
If you make an appointment, care is prompt and professional.
24/7 emergency service can be slow, but I do not think anyone can move fast enough at 2am when my dog is in pain.

Flipper's, A Gourmet Hamburger Place
Half burger joint and half coffee house and all good.
This has been a classic gourmet burger joint for as long as I have been in SF.
Try the awesome outdoor patio for brunch and bring fido along for the fun.
When you are finished browse the galleries and shops along Hayes St, one of the best overall hoods in SF.

Joe's 24th Street Cafe
I love this place. Is it great? no
Is it good - Hell yes.
Family owned and operated and that alone makes it worth a visit.
A couple of outside tables make for a chance to dine with doggie.
The sidewalk is narrow so keep a tight leash and try the fires, they are always done just right.

Basso's Restaurant
Good solid joint, decent food and nice service. Nothing to shout about, but a pleasant neighborhood restaurant.
Dog friendly? I guess so, there are tables out front, mostly taken up by patrons from the attached bar (which deserves a thumbs up mention), but I am not sure that qualifies.
No water bowl, no treats but all and all a good place for a reasonable price.

Osso & Co.
So I like the store. Nice selection of high end dog products, but I love the neighborhood.
You gotta love a shop steps away from Golden Gate Park.
I also love the line of collars and leashes from GG a local woman owned business.

Noe Valley Pet Company
There are dozens of boutique pet shops in San Francisco. What sets this one apart is the passion that the staff has for all things four legged and flea ridden.
A good overall selection, but a little light on the giant dog sizes.

Doc's Clock
I love dive bars. I love my dog. I love bringing my dog into dive bars, and this is by far the most dog friendly dive bar in town.
Saturday Doggie Happy Hours the first Saturday of every month. Each one for a different cause.
Rocket Dog, Wonder Dog and Muttville are just some of the places that have benefited from Doc's generosity.

Le Zinc French Bistro
The food runs a little hot and cold as does the service. When the place is on, it is fabulous, but every now and then it can be a little disappointing.
It is one of the best dog friendly restaurants in Noe Valley (which is the dog friendliest neighborhood in San Francisco).
A few small tables out front, and a great patio out back, with an entrance from the parking lot out back.
Uneven or not, it is one of the best brunches in town to bring your best friend.

Bernie's Coffee
Yes virginia there are still independent coffee shops.
A local girls, local shop. Great coffee and pastries, free WiFi and the best staff in the biz.
Do yourself a favor, skip Starbucks and head strait to Bernie's.
And yes, there is in fact a Bernie - she is there everyday with a smile and a fresh cup.

Just For Fun & Scribbledoodles
Sometimes I go in there just because they treat my baby Tallulah so well.
Mostly I go in there for an amazing selection of Cards, Gifts, Games and Stuff.
It is kind of two stores in one. High end stationary and custom invitations on one side. Novelty gifts and games on the other side.
A great place for holiday decorations, even for the obscure ones like Arbor day.
Say hi and grab a treat for the pup.

The Animal Company
A great neighborhood pet store. Dogs, cats and birds all living together in harmony.
The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly and extremely generous with the treats.
If they do not have what you are looking for, no problem, Special orders are prompt and painless.

Park Chalet
This has to be one of the best dog friendly restaurants in the city. (Well if all the way out to the ocean is still considered the city).
A vast lawn out back with some tables, and plenty of space for blankets and picnic finery.
The service is surprisingly good and the food is sometimes excellent. I had pulled pork and it was great, but my wife did not like her overcooked ahi sandwich.
Live music, sun (or fog as the case may be) and beer. It does not get much better than this.
Dogs do need to be on leash and there are a lot of children and other distractions, so well socialized dogs are a must.

Pasta Pomodoro
Pasta Pomodoro is in many neighborhoods across San Francisco (and elsewhere).
In general they offer good pasta and Italian style food at reasonable prices.
This one in Noe Valley is a great place to eat with your dog at your side. Several sidewalk tables make for great people (and pooch) watching.
The staff loves dogs and the neighborhood is incredibly dog friendly.

Fort Funston
This was one of my all time favorite places in the city even before I got a dog. I would love to go out there and walk along the oceanside cliffs and look out across the city and the bay. Incredible views and atmosphere and don't let me forget about the hangliders.
When the conditions are right (I do not know what the "right" conditions are) there can be many folks flying on the breeze. Leaping off the edge of the world with giant multi-colored wings and soaring up to the sky. All this in the SF city limits (albeit on the far edges of the city)
And now I am one of the lucky dog owners that also gets to take advantage of this amazing place. I do not think there is a happier place on earth for my puppy. Running around the dunes, jumping off into sandy landings and tons of other dogs to play with. An hour here and she is done for days, snoozing and dreaming of the next time she gets to go back.
