Hotel Palomar - a Kimpton Hotel

The hotel Palomar was great. It is very dog friendly. The only reason I would not give the hotel 5 bones is because it was not located near a park that allows dogs off leash. My dog is spoiled, but highly trained and has been trained to relieve herself only when off leash. I had to walk her down to three different areas till I found a place where she could run under verbal command.
The staff was friendly, our bell person Sean was very helpful, we had booked a suite but because my wife could not step into the shower whirlpool tub due to a recent knee surgery, we had to trade down to handicapped room. The staff was friendly in this and all areas of our stay.
The hotel offered free coffee in the morning if you got it by 9:am. I showed up at 8:50 and they were out. No big deal since there were two really good coffee shops (Starbucks, and other) within 100 yards of the hotel.
In the evening they offered complimentary wine service, but ran out of glasses when I showed up, (twice), I started to fell like the hotel critic from Oceans 12 when it came to things running out. But I made up for it with the free Ice tea and lemonade that was offered at check in. My dog liked the flavored ice water, Lemon, Strawberry, and some other real fruit flavored water.
The hotel has a nice restaurant with an extensive wine list. The Fois Gras was pretty tasty, and the deserts were small, pricy, but delicious.
I liked the hotel, my dog had a pleasant stay, but would like to see a patch of grass for easy peeing.

Ranch House

This is a rickety looking old red and white farm style barn restaurant in the heart of beautiful Moraga.
Eating inside is what most of the town does, Smart Dog owners come for the old wood benches. They enjoy the green grass under their feet and gophers popping up just under their dogs noses. The place is a hidden treasure surrounded by a crumbly white painted wooden fence. Its a true joy on a warm spring morning. We go after morning dog park hours.

This is American farm style cooking. It is a Ranch House in the center of beautiful Moraga. The food is not fancy, neither are the prices.
Omelets, Scrambles, eggs, Bacon Sausage, Pancakes, and Lunches are good for burgers, and sandwiches. The food is not fancy and neither are the prices.
A breakfast or lunch for two people costs about $20.00 with coffee, tea and a fat omelet.

Metro Lafayette

I have only had two problem experiences in over 80 visits.
Once they ran out of Red wine glasses and my guest had to ask for proper glasses when white wine glasses were put on the table. The server fixed the problem.

I had a burger over cooked, the manager was right on it and fixed the problem.

They have excellent food, great desert, top quality service. Employees seem to pay attention, and bring what you need as you need it. The chefs do a great job of making some very creative dishes, seafood has always been fresh, Salads are delicious, and the portions are on the light side so you will always have room for desert.
Two people can have brunch for around $25.00 (no alcohol)
Dinner for two can cost between $30.00 - $70.00 (no alcohol)

During the spring and summer when the plastic tent comes down its a great place to bring my dog.

Chow

One of my two favorite dog friendly restaurants in Lafayette.

My dog loves the $3.00 meatball.
The place is fun. The servers have a cool edgy attitude. They all seem to love dog owners.
Favorite items are :
Tai Chicken salad
The Blue Cheese Burger.
The meatballs (off menue item) for my dog.
