Seal Point Dog Park

Love coming here w my labradoodle on a warm breezy day. They have a large fenced area that's separated into two diff sections (sm dogs & lg dogs) and your dogs are free to roam around off leash. My dog loves it here and he goes nuts when he knows we're near by! The larger fenced area is great. So much space for him to run around. There's enough parking even on the busier days & everyone is pretty chill there. When you want some one on one time w your dog, there's the SF bay trail that goes around the park.. Great views and just an all around great park to go to. :)

Bernal Heights Dog Park

You honestly can't top anything as beautiful as Bernal Heights. When it's a warm, sunny day in San Francisco ... this is the place I want to be at with my dog. When you get to the very top, you can see the entire city of San Francisco along w/ the beautiful downtown skyline. It's seriously breathtaking.

Tons of friendly off-leash dogs.. and the one thing I love most about Bernal Hill is that it tires Brady out like crazy!

Most dog owners that come here are very friendly as well .. but beware of the few that doesn't even want to make eye contact or talk! I actually witnessed a pretty bad incident here. Involving 2 dog owners. Don't know the entire story, but one dog was playing rough w/ the puppy and before you know it, some guy freaked out and hit the other persons dog. I mean, of course I'm not going to decrease a star off Bernal Heights Dog Park b/c of that .. since it can happen anywhere .. but wow!

ANYWAY! I love Bernal Heights :)

Togs for Dogs & Cats Too

This little hole in the wall is probably the best place I've discovered! It's a mom & pop pet store and they just about have EVERYTHING. They may not be the neatest, cleanest, most organized store ... but seriously, do you know how hard it is to get Innova Evo dog food around here for prices that almost meet wholesale?

Not only are their prices perfect, their staff is the friendliest. Any questions you may have, they'll answer it. And a super plus -- they always greet my dog and give him a bundle of treats whether its a small, big, or no purchase!

I'm hoping Togs will be opened for many many more years!

Plaza De Paws

1 bone for a nice, big, clean store.
1 bone for great selection of toys, treats, foods, and accessories.

-1 bone for associates / owner that's totally rude.
-1 bone for having overly priced items!
-1 bone for the signs out front that they've changed a million times. (Saying: No Male Dogs... and then changing it saying male dogs must have belly bands... and then you have to put them in strollers BLAH BLAH BLAH .. ugh!)

I've been here a couple of times and I gotta tell you, they were not all pleasant experiences. The first time I came here, the girl was on her phone while sweeping the floor. She didn't even acknowledge the fact that I was in there. I needed help picking a collar - but she made that "shooing" movement with her hand.. didn't know if that meant she'll be right with me or just 'go away' (lol, I hope not!) .. then the 2nd time I came, I brought my best friend here since she had just gotten a papillon puppy. We brought both our dogs here and her pup happened to mark on a table. The owner was pretty furious and said "pick your dog up" and immediately handed us spray and paper towel. Lady, are you kidding me?

So.... I also came here to pick up a few items for my dog's birthday .. and again, bad experience. I know what you're all thinking -- why have you been here so many times when all you've had were bad experiences??? Well...

The only reason why I've been here so much though because its so near! And they DO have a wide variety of items. However, I've moved now and I'm just glad there are all these other nice boutiques to go to in the city .. and I rather drive a little further to go to Togs for Dogs & Cats in San Mateo to get my Innova dog food. So there you have it.

Centennial Way Dog Park

I was really excited about this dog park when I first heard it was going to open.. since I usually drive all the way to Seal Point Dog Park in San Mateo. I liked the fact that there was going to be one close by!

Well ............................. my best friend and I went there the week it opened and booooy was it a big failure.. They had a big dog and small dog area, however I hated the fact that there was tanbark and dirt on the big dog side and turf and dirt on the small dog side. Aside from that, it wasn't so much of a 'dog park' to me. It was just okay. Also, there was fencing between the big and small dog area.. however, they built that part really poorly since there were a couple of times where a small pup from the small area dug a whole and went under the fence to the big dog side. That's pretty unsafe knowing that there are some dogs that just aren't into dogs that are way smaller than them.

If they fixed all their problem areas I think it would be a much better park.. but other than that, I haven't been back for a while. I've only been maybe 4 times? And I stopped right after that .. driving 15 minutes to Seal Point is well worth the trip anyway.

Spruce Ave Pet Hospital

I've been bringing Brady (my mini labradoodle) here since he was 10 weeks old. The reason why I've brought him here is because before I had Brady, I had a guinea pig named Milo that Dr. Griffin had treated for rashes! He was gentle since day one!

So, when I got Brady I just had to see if he was the real deal ... and sure enough, he is! He's the most gentle vet there is and one of the most knowledgeable. You can tell he's really into what he does. The pet hospital itself is not the biggest, or is it the nicest .. but the staff truly is one of a kind. I can't think of anywhere else to bring Brady anymore - or any of my future pets. Every time I've been there, the costs have always been low .. but the experience was always an A++++++++!
