Friendly mixed crowd. Nice bartenders, frequent drink specials and "specialty cocktails." Very wide Whiskey selection. Fantastic freshly prepared food. Lovely enclosed rear yard/patio, as well as a roomy rear dining room area. Pretty casual and comfortable environment all around. Does have a pool table and dart board to enjoy. Fairly easy street parking and a well lit neighborhood.

Rocket Dog Rescue

This is a group founded by the wonderful Pali Boucher. They are truly dedicated to saving as many dogs as humanly possible, especially from the high kill (and "alleged" no-kill) facilities. I've even spotted a few kitties recently on the website.

Duboce Park

A little out of the way but well worth the trip. Attended Dogfest and a few other events held here. Parking can be hard but this is a wide open clean and green spot to check out.

Golden Gate Park

Bit far to take Betsy very often, but we never miss Pet Pride Day, or a few other events as this is a fantastic and vast open space. Parking can be iffy, but either way it's a great walk.

El Rio

May be small inside, but has a roomy patio in the rear. Bartenders are the greatest, host all kinds of rescue group events. One of the owners even has a benefit yearly to help out dogs "across the ocean". They're just the greatest. Betsy had such fun at the Rocket Dog event awhile back.

Destination Baking Company

Mmmm good place. Bit of outdoor seating, great coffee. Fabulous quiche and handpies to die for. Close to closing time they offer buy one get one free. Make this a must stop "destination" if you're in Glen Park.

Petco

Best BIG store in the city. Betsy has a blast touring the huge aisles with so much good stuff. The staff goes out of their way to greet her (and I). Free parking, can't beat that for SF. Vaccine clinic is well managed and staffed by experienced vet.

Glen Canyon Park

Wonderful place, makes you forget you're in the city. Betsy has a blast at the "Puppies Behind Bars" fundraiser picnic/benefits.

Best in Show

Quality goods, great store people. Betsy and I even met Supervisor Dufty judging the Halloween Costumes one year. Lots of unique gifts and great website too.

Pawtrero Hill Bathhouse and Feed Company

Great easy to get to location. Off the beaten path so it's easy parking too. Mostly doggy centered stuff, ok for Betsy but not "her bunny". But she feels welcome and at home in the roomy store, with all those great treats. Love the "feedstore" feel and decor inside and out.

Restani-Fatima Veterinary Hospital

Betsy gets the star treatment here, especially if Fran's working. Dr. Restani provides great care, thorough yet conservative. Convenient hours, and vaccine clinics one evening a month.

Terra Mia Ceramic Studios

This shop is heaven sent. They host Rocket Dogs events, I panicked when I saw the "breakables", but the pups were still more than welcome. Truly amazing people and great merchandise too.

Bernal Beast

Large variety of merchandise for "all furry beasts", feathered and finned too. Quite unexpected from the outside. Betsy enjoys perusing what I'm going to buy her. Friendly helpful staff.

Noe Valley Pet Company

Nice store with a pretty good variety. Wide range of treats so tasty looking i was tempted. Betsy always feels welcome, especially when she is having her photos done at one of the many rescue group fundraisers. Shopkeepers are great too.

Wide variety of unique gifts. Dog friendly owner and staff, just ask Betsy. One stop shopping for things you won't find anyplace else.

Pet Poses Photography

Both Suzanne and Teresa are the greatest. Had many photos of my Osa (rip) done by them, and more recently some of Betsy. Good packages offered and convenient locations host them. Looking forward to having Betsy's holiday photos done again soon, of course by Pet Poses.

Arizmendi Bakery

Fabulous tasty pastries, and interesting pizzas that change daily. Great coffee varieties. This place was/is a lifesaver as the animal emergency hospital is next door. They sure fill the need for a pick me up.

Great dog-friendly people here, even one rescue group volunteer working here. Whatever you need you can find here. And rarely if you can't find that certain something they will try to order it for you.Most important, Betsy's welcome to be with me shopping.

Critter Fritters Pet Foods & Supplies

The best local neighborhood pet store. Nate and Tony are especially great. If they don't have it they will get it. My Betsy loves going shopping with me there, as she gets a treat too.They even host photographer sessions sometimes.

San Francisco Veterinary Specialists

Wish it had been under different circumstances, but this is an exceptional facility, and the staff (Doctors on down) is fantastic. Went in as emergency with my Betsy as she got into something as I left for work one night. I kept calling to check on her from work, not once did anyone get perturbed taking the calls. Then it took me nearly 20 minutes to get out the next morning on her discharge, as everyone working there seemed to come out and give her goodbye hugs!
