Excellent dog park. You'll have to leash your dog until you reach a signage that says "dogs ok to be off leash here". Be wary of the sensitive owl people. If you go near the ocean with your dog off leash they will call the authorities and fine you. Keep on the sign trails. Garbage, bathrooms, water all accessible.

To clarify what Garrett said: the off-leash area is very well defined with posts in the ground, but the area is not fenced.
This is a big space and great park for letting the puppy stretch her legs. The views across the Bay are spectacular on a clear day.
Minus one bone for those annoying little squeaking squirrels that my dig loves to chase.

We went over to Berkeley today to check out Cesar Chavez park. This park has some stiff competition with so many other great dog parks nearby (Pt. Pinol, Pt. Isabel) but I have to say it holds its own. The off-leash area is a short walk from the entrance. On the way through the park we saw families riding bakes and flying kites. The off leash are is large and seemed to be fully fenced. There was water and poop bags available at the entrance.
Although Pt. Isabel is great with all of its amenities, I enjoyed the varied terrain of Cesar Chavez a bit more. It also doesn't hurt that this park is a bit closer to SF.

The park is very nice and frequently uncrowded. The leash/unleash areas are difficult to determine. The walk into the dog area is longer than most parks in the area. The first time I went I unleashed too soon (luckily the park employee that informed me didn't ticket me).
