Hi I'm Lloyd,
My owner is sometimes stressed on the weekends with all the dogs and owners running around Pt. Isabel.
I was playing 'rugby' this Sunday, with a new friend when a german shepard came up and challenged me to 'gladiator.' Being a 'pitty' I don't back down. Unfortunately this german shepard kept challenging me, so it took three calls from my owner to get me by his side. My owner mistakenly yelled 'control your dog' to the other owner. He should have yelled 'call your dog.' The shepard owner only saw rough play and thought nothing of it and continued with ball play with her two other dogs.
My owner felt the 'gladiator' activity could result in stitches, etc. so he wrongly controlled the other dog by kicking it. My owner felt very bad, but in a split second he broke up the engagement. (Later the owner of the first 'new rugby friend' said a dog fight was only 30 seconds away.)
My owner is over fifty, and didn't think he could really hurt the 70 pound shepard. But he did feel bad enough to post this note.

Wonderful place to take your pooch if you don't mind crowds and people who don't know much about dog behavior and will therefore judge the breed and not the deed.

I love this place. I take my dog there at least 2 times a week. He gets to play with a variety of dogs and run around. By the time we leave, he's tired and sleeps the rest of the day.
You can also get drinks and snacks while walking. Also, if your dog gets dirty, there are dog walking facilities or you can use the full service.

This is a great dog park! Love the space, views, cafe, and the dog friendly folks.

I call PI doggy Disneyland because it is the happiest place on earth for my dog. My dog is an older dog and he acts like a puppy here. All I have to do is ask him if he wants to go to point Isabel and he goes crazy.

Once you take your Dog here, there is NO comparison. The largest and best OFF-LEASH Park in the state. Crowded on the weekends with lots of canine companions to play with. The water dogs all swim in the channel (Just make sure you hit it at high tide or it's quite muddy). Very convenient if you like to hike as it's also right next to the Bay Trail..

Love, love, love this dog park. Our favorite place to go for weekend breakfast sandwiches and coffee at the Sit and Stay Cafe and a nice, long walk. Sookie loves to sniff the ENTIRE 21 acres of this fenced-in dog park. There are lots of gopher holes. There are also a few places to wade in the water. I recommend going when the tides in, otherwise you're dog will wade into 12 inches of Bay mud. Not to worry if this happens, as there's a Mudpuppies self-service dog bath next to the cafe. Plenty of water for the doggies too.

This was just rated the #1 dog park in the county! It is also the countyy's largest off- leash park. Sit and Stay Cafe for coffee, bagels , sandwichs etc. Also a dog wash salon! Oh yeah- the largest two meadows overlook the GG bridge!

Took my mutt here and she spent the entire afternoon asleep. This was the greatest place she's ever been. TONS of dogs, poop bags and trash cans available everywhere, the sit-and-stay cafe for humans to have coffee and yummies, and mudd puppys (a pet store/station where you can wash your dog off, or let someone do it for you)...what else can you ask for?? Apparently the southside of the part is 21 acres, and it's off-leash which is tricky within san francisco.

This wasn't your typical park where there's a mix of kids playing and a few dogs, that get in the parents' way (see: number of times i've been yelled at at dolores park for my dog nearing the sandbox). This was a DOG zone. Trays on top of the poop bag station hold extra tennis balls, and splashes are heard left and right of retrievers diving in to the water. If your dog loves to run, frolic through tall grass, get muddy, or swim this is a MUST visit.

Ample parking and when it's busy you can park in the nearby costco. :)

While the views aren't quite as impressive here as Fort Funston, the extra perks put it back up to 5 bones for me and my pup. A "Mud Puppy's Cafe" with yummy people food and coffee, as well as tons of fun doggie toys and treats, and either self bathe or dog washing options are really nice features of this park. My dog loves getting treated to a Frosty Paws on warm days. And it's nice to know if he gets way too dirty we could always just wash him there before putting him in the car.

There is PLENTY of room to run, with flat large open fields, a few little hills, grassy areas, a swim inlet and a rocky beach area. Good views of the city from across the bay, but be forwarned: it always seems to be windy here, so dress warmly!

Drinking water is available for the pups, and the entire park is fenced in so even if you have a runner you're safe.

A lot of room to roam with your dog. It can get crowded on weekends so I like to go during the week and avoid the crowds. There's a small cafe and dog washing/dog supply store near the entrance.
