Lots of options--sunny, shady, crowded, quiet. Minus one bone for when it's foggy.

Golden Gate Park is amazing, but please don't bring UNVACCINATED dogs here... Homeless animals (with homeless people) sometimes unknowingly spread parvo in the park and your dog could catch this deadly disease...be careful!

I love the playground, flower garden, water features! And it is close to Haight Street which always seems pretty animal friendly...

Bit far to take Betsy very often, but we never miss Pet Pride Day, or a few other events as this is a fantastic and vast open space. Parking can be iffy, but either way it's a great walk.

It's beautiful and famous but we prefer the mission/castro area for walks because of the fog! Check ahead before you go, dogs aren't welcome in every area of this vast park but there's PLENTY of places they are!

Who doesnt love GG Park? there is soo much space and soo many thiings to do with or without my mutt, I dont think I could do them all in a year if I went every day!

There are some great off leash areas, and some amazing attractions/museums that I love to bring my doggie to when I can. You can even go all of the way out to the ocean. I think we are really lucky to have such a world class park within our city, and reccommend it to each and evey dog owner!

Dog paradise, at least in the off-leash sections. Great place to take the dog on a weekend or weekday. Never gets that crowded because the park is simply too large. The size can be a negative if you're looking for major social time time - dogs are often scattered.

Running water situated around the restrooms let the pup stay hydrated but the poop bags are often out so bring some from home. Oh and it can get pretty cold in the evenings, bring layers.

A beautiful place to spend a sunny afternoon. Lots of different places to discover in the park. I love the gardens near the Conservatory of Flowers and walking around by the Academy of Sciences and the Japanese Tea Gardens.
