I come here at least once a week. This is an on leash dog park, especially the grass side. The Berkeley Animal shelter is a block from here and the dog trainers will tell you to put your dog on a leash. If you walk on the other side of the lake, the paved side, the dogs are ok to be off leash. No dog bags provided but there is a dog drinking fountain next to the bathrooms.

We come running her at least once a week with our Vizsla. Although you get some highway noise you also get a beautiful view of the cove. There is plenty of grass for the pup to run around although it is often muddy.
This is an on leash area although many people let their dogs off leash. If you do let your dog off leash here be aware that there are often poorly socialized dogs around so have your dog under voice control and keep them away from the on leash dogs unless you ask the other owner first.
