This is a nice little park. It reminds me of something you might find in London because it is very small and surrounded by houses. I was here with my dog around lunch time on a Tuesday and the park had a good activity level of people eating lunch, walking dogs and generally enjoying the day. I was staying at the W hotel on 3rd Street and this is the closest dog friendly green space.

South Park is a wonderful hidden park in the middle of a block of SOMA. Its claim to fame is its the epicenter of the Dot.Com. boom. Whether or not that is true, the park does have a great mix of homes, businesses, and rest. The park itself is surrounded by large old trees, it has a playground a a few areas for the dogs to play. During weekdays especially, you will find a great mix of people and pets using all parts of the park, there are poop bags on occasion and if there are no kids playing my pup loves to play on the playground.

There can be a few homeless people around the park that can be a nuisance or just sleeping on a bench. The park is protected from most of the cold wind of the city, but has soo many trees and shade it can be colder there quickly.
