Lots of friendly dogs and people. About half the dogs were on leash and half off leash. Awesome view of golden gate bridge. Parking wasn't too bad.

Baker beach is a great beach for people and quiet calm dogs, but my jazz is too crazy and into everyones stuff to go here too often. I love the amazing bridge view, the easy parking , and the level way to walk out to the water. I have had one or two people be upset with my dog running loose, so I would rather head to chrissy field or fort funston.

This used to be my favorite beach because of the awesome bridge view, but I think Chrissy has surpassed that since there is less fog.

Still, if you're looking for a nice day on the beach with the whole family, you can't beat baker...there's much more actual beach to sit on here.

My pups love this beach. Parking isn't too bad in the neighborhood off Lake. Lots of places for the pups to run free and enjoy the water and the sand.

This is a perfect place for my pooch. Not too many people or dogs here usually, and he gets the run of the place.

Watch out for the naked folks at the end.

I think this is my new favorite beach in SF to visit with my dog. Fort Funston may be the best beach for dogs but this is the best beach for dogs and owners. On a sunny San Francisco day you'll find half of the city here relaxing and enjoying the view of the Golden Gate bridge. The beach is long and wide with plenty of room for dogs, families, and sun bathers.

We had a great time when we visited this beach. It's not necessarily as dog-friendly as Crissy, and certainly not the full-on doggie wonderland that is Funston, but it is a great option and good change of pace. The beach is fairly wide and nice and long, and it seems that dogs off leash are well permitted at one end of the beach (at least when we were there, it was the end by the cliffs, not GG). My only complaint is that coming out of the beach it was really hard to find a trash can, so be prepared to lug the poop around if your dog ends up going, or else stick to the parking lots where there are port-a-potties and a trash can by that entrance.
