Great park with lots of wide open spaces and PLENTY of room to run. I love that it's mainly off-leash. Just be aware that you can't go in the Tilden area with the dogs, so plan your hike accordingly. Also while there is a water fountain in at least one spot, once you get out in the hilly trail there isn't water (or coverage), so it wouldn't be a good hike to do in the heat. You also need to watch out for muddy patches and cow patties, but overall a really great place to bring the dogs!

Wildcat Canyon is always an enjoyable visit. There are countless trails you and your dog can explore. It isn't usually crowded so you won't run into many people. Cows graze in the park year round so be prepared to call or leash your dog if you come across the bovine residents.

Like many of the East Bay parks Wildcat Canyon has rolling grassy hills with great views. Dogs can be off leash in most of the park but be aware that there may be cows loose. When hiking along the ridge it can get quite windy so bring a light jacket even if it is warm. Also, water is only available at the entrances so bring plenty.
